www.f4wonline.com/news/daily-updates/daily-update-wwe-stock-price-vince-mcmahon-weekend-scheduleDaily Update: WWE stock price, Vince McMahon, weekend schedule Dave Meltzer's Friday news update. DAVE MELTZER WWE: 1.The WWE letter to employees today read: "The Wall Street Journal has published a second story with expanded details on the initial WWE report last month. We want to reiterate that we and our Board of Directors take these allegations seriously. We've been cooperating fully with the investigation led by our Board of Directors and will continue to do so until its conclusion. Please note that upon is conclusion, WWE leadership will make itself available to answer any questions that you may have." 2.WWE stock dropped today from $65.07 per share to $63.79. It was a decline but far from a collapse. A few notes about the women who got the $7.5 million payoff. That's slightly less than the value of the 20-year contract Bret Hart signed that Vince tried to renege on. That's more than Bruno Sammartino earned in his career as world champion in building the company. It's just under double what WWE paid for all intellectual property rights and the tape collections of WCW and ECW combined. 3.Vince is at TV in Fort Worth. No word on if he will appear on the show. 4.A number of media stories, including the ESPN story, when covering the Vince story today, did reference Rita Chatterton and her rape allegation. 5.Smackdown tonight in Fort Worth has Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus with the winner getting at title show on the 9/3 Cardiff, Wales PPV show. Roman Reigns is on the show, and Ronda Rousey in an angle that may set up a SummerSlam match with Liv Morgan for the Smackdown title. 6.Kevin Owens appeared on the NHL draft television show today. He came out as a surprise to Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau, who is a big Owens fan. We don't know if this was put together by Jackie Redmond, but Redmond was in the booth with Boudreau as they went to make a draft pick. Redmond works regularly for both the NHL Network and for WWE hosting the post-Raw and post-Smackdown talk shows on Peacock. While on the show, Owens said he should be back in a few weeks. 7.Alexa Bliss was the answer to a question in Wednesday's Los Angeles Times crossword puzzle. 8.Mattell and WWE have a fan panel at the San Diego ComicCon on 7/21 at 11:15 a.m. Sam Roberts and Ciampa host. www.dailystar.co.uk/latest/wrestling?utm_source=interests_newsletter&utm_campaign=wrestling_newsletter2&utm_medium=emailVince McMahon 'paid $12m to keep sex misconduct allegations quiet' Piledriver #22 - Vince McMahon 'paid $12m to keep sex misconduct allegations quiet' Hello and welcome to Piledriver Wrestling Newsletter. This week I intended to take a look at the highs and lows of WWE Money in the Bank and the meteoric rise of Austin Theory. However, breaking news this afternoon means that will be put on hold for now. The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) revealed last month WWE's board was investigating claims of a "secret" $3m [£2.4m] settlement Vince McMahon agreed to pay to a departing employee - a paralegal - with whom he allegedly had an affair. In the days that followed, Mr McMahon stepped down from his role as CEO and chairman of the board until the conclusion of the investigation, with his daughter Stephanie McMahon named interim CEO and chairwoman. Mr McMahon said he was cooperating fully with the inquiry, as did WWE. Today, the same news outlet reported Mr McMahon agreed to pay a much larger sum - more than $12m [nearly £10m] - in "hush money" to no less than four women, including the aforementioned paralegal, over a 16-year period. According to the WSJ, the married father-of-two did this to secure nondisclosure agreements to keep secret allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity. The pay-outs are said to prevent the four women from discussing potential legal claims against or their relationships with the 76-year-old executive. The WSJ, which says it has spoken to people familiar with the deals and reviewed documents, alleges the three previously unreported deals include "a $7.5m pact with a former wrestler who alleged that Mr McMahon coerced her into giving him oral sex and then demoted her and, ultimately, declined to renew her contract in 2005 after she resisted further sexual encounters". The wrestler and her attorney reportedly approached Vince McMahon in 2018 and negotiated the payment in return for her silence. The report says another deal states "a WWE contractor presented the company with unsolicited nude photos of Mr McMahon she reported receiving from him and alleged that he had sexually harassed her on the job, according to people familiar with the woman’s 2008 nondisclosure agreement". Vince McMahon is said to have agreed to pay her roughly $1m. Finally, it's reported that in a 2006 agreement "a former manager who had worked 10 years for Mr McMahon before he allegedly initiated a sexual relationship with her was paid $1 million to keep quiet about it". The WSJ has further claimed: "Mr McMahon’s affairs at the company were common knowledge, according to former WWE employees." On June 15, the WSJ reported the details of a $3m settlement, said to relate to the paralegal. According to the report, the unnamed paralegal said Vince hired her on a salary of $100,000. She alleged he then doubled that salary after they began having sex. She alleges he "passed her like a toy" to John Laurinaitis, the head of talent at WWE, for whom she later served as an assistant, and claims she was paid millions of dollars to keep quiet after exiting the company. Board members reportedly learned of the $3m agreement in a series of anonymous emails they received from someone who said the former WWE paralegal was a friend. The investigation is said to have begun in April when the other, older non-disclosure agreements, involving claims by former female WWE employees of misconduct by Mr McMahon and Mr Laurinaitis, came to light. Additionally, the board is reportedly looking at a $1.5m non-disclosure agreement reached in 2012 with an employee involving misconduct claims against Mr Laurinaitis. He has since been placed on administrative leave with Bruce Prichard taking over as interim head of talent relations. A spokesperson for the WWE board's independent directors - who are conducting the investigation - declined to comment on the new allegations. Neither lawyers for Vince McMahon nor John Laurinaitis are said to have responded to requests for comment by the WSJ. We will keek you informed as and when there are any breaking developments in this story. Take care Neil
